2019 gouache on inkjet print on watercolor paper 13 x 36 inches Artist's Statement: As I researched for this project, I was taken with the concept of vibration, of seeking paradise, revelation here on earth, our planet, as well as equality in community, ideal symmetries, design in nature. In my work I look closely at the natural world, and find comfort in the irreducibility of form, the inter-connectivity inherent to all forms of life... everything is connected, alive, vibrating and in commune. The images here are from close and constant observation of a tributary of the Hudson River that runs by my home. In them I see forms that connote Shaker gift paintings, basket-weaving and needlework. They are grass, seeds, ice. Everything is everything.
